The LCC's worm drive is definitely less efficient so the runtimes are less than with a standard system. I only got 30 minutes out of a DualSky 3s 12C 1700 pack the other day, but it's still breaking in the axles. People are reporting lower temps and longer runtimes as the axles break in. That battery really isn't ideal though because it's only 12C. I'm looking for higher C replacements.

Also, crawler batteries are so inexpensive and small compared to buggy/truggy/MT that it's no problem to have a couple small spares in your pocket.

Back to the MRC vs LCC. If they were the same price, I'd get the LCC, but really it's way more expensive right now because it's still new. If cost is an issue, the MRC has been out long enough that you can find them used for a very low cost. I bought a second one RTR for $80 shipped. So you could pick up a used MRC on the cheap right now, then upgrade to the LCC down the road when the used market makes them more affordable. Just a thought anyway.
