A buddy of mine is working on his Mechanical Engineering degree and is working on an electro-magnet piston for airsoft guns. It'll eliminate the motor all-together, run on much less power, and will be extremely reliable
Real guns >>>> toy guns. If less-lethal rounds (like beanbags) were cheaper we'd be playing with shotguns and maybe some body armor. Probably best for everyone that those things aren't cheap.
