Also, gearing for 12 and 14 cells could be the same gearing. There is indeed a "range" of safe gearing vs. the perfect ratio that must be used. The 1/8 shafts are pretty tough too, but..... if you have the pinion mounted at or near the end of the shaft, it is likely that you will have some trouble. I have seen 2 or 3 broken shafts and a bent shaft with the 1/8 shaft motors(Feigaos - the Lehner uses a hardened shaft and I haven't seen a broken Lehner shaft). I broke one myself with an 8L on 12 cells. The pinion was way on the end of the shaft(so I had it coming to me!), but consider yourself warned. The 5mm shaft is better.
The combos will include a 5mm shaft unless otherwise specified.
