I am looking for a new project/build, and I can’t seem to get the 1/8 truggy roller I want for the right price (!), so I was thinking about building an FLM Rustler from scratch… and I have a couple of questions:
- If I am buying every FLM Rustler part, is it still worth getting a Rustler donor vehicle, or just buy the remaining parts? I don’t need radio or servo, but I haven’t got a good sense of how many other parts I would need to pick up. (I don’t have a Rustler to compare with)
- Am I right in understanding that the FLM parts will make the truck too heavy for the VXL 3500 combo that is normally in the Rustler?
- If so, what would people suggest? How about the MMM 2650 combo on 4s? Would that even fit?
- Any pros and cons of the extended chassis and/or extended A-arms?
- Is this the full set of parts (and no duplication)?:
- - Aluminum/steel differential for the electric stampede
- - Electric Rustler steering draglink
- - Hardened steel Stampede/Rustler idler gear
- - Fastlane Racing Caster Blocks
- - Electric Rustler Steering Bell Crank Aluminum
- - Fastlane Rustler Super Extended Chassis Kit with Extended Length Arms
- - CNC stampede/rustler transmission case
- - E Rustler/Stampede Ext Arm CVD
- - Electric Rustler Upper Chassis
