I'm not opposed to the
idea of Welfare, just how it is implemented. People seem to make it a way of life instead of treating it as a
temporary helping hand in a time of need. Similarly, Medicare/medicaid is abused as well. I know of at least 2 people (out of my generally small pool of people I know), one of them my scumbag father, who are considered "disabled" and collect benefits when they are MORE than capable of working - they just don't want to. Why should they work when the system gives them money?
"Clearing out" our old citizens is a bit over the top, even for me. But, Futurama has the right idea, provide "suicide booths" for people to use if they want to.
