You would be surprised how little of a difference the center ground clearance makes for almost all terrain. The stock skid plates are already at this level, so if you weren't bottoming out on the skids before, you still won't. The lower CG also makes a big difference for things like hill climbing or high speed cornering. With the right suspension setup, the actual bashing capabilities are improved in most areas.
