However, they were sitting in sunlight, so quite a bit of heat since it easily hits 95F+ here. I've even recharged them and they haven't gotten hard or anything. Still squishy/soft.

I had a small pack getting mushy because I didn't realize that it was hooked up to a UBEC. It was completely drained and had 0 voltage...
