Here is what Steve posted elsewhere---it does not address your specific question:
Actually the timing does come "pre-set" exactly like the timing on the SS line of motors.
While there is no physical stop preventing you from adding more timing, the timing label itself only has deliniations going so high or so low. We recommend using timing settings only within the range delinated by the label.
