Don't forget, those peak numbers are just that; peaks. Normal running will be far lower. A gradual trigger finger will help reduce those currents.

As far as the ET is concerned, it samples every 1/10 sec, so if a burst happens in between samples, you won't catch it, or will catch the rising or falling slope of the spike.
