People have had problems with helical cut gears. My 2 cents is that it is difficult to get to the diffs if you do have a failure, so go with the best right away and hopefully avoid a teardown.

I have also been considering getting Hot Bodies diffs as well.

And I already put it through the speed calculator. With my current setup (center diff and stock maxx diffs) I need a 9 tooth pinion and 51 tooth spur to have it geared for around 44MPH with some tire ballooning, with Mugen truggy diffs, I will be able to run a 15 tooth pinion and have roughly the same speed/torque.
