Gas engines hold a tune pretty well, pretty much just like a weedeater or chainsaw engine. If you want to run in winter and summer it will need to be tuned for maximum power but shouldn't be much different. My chainsaw just requires flipping a plate so the carb sucks in pre-heated air that passes over the motor.
