Are you asking if Castle would release a product and not back it up? I suppose it's possible that they'll release a firmware swap for it with a disclaimer that any damage won't be covered under warranty (though they'll probably still cover it as long as you don't deliberately burn it up). If they're releasing a car-specific model I have every confidence that they'll have out backs on it. I'm still twiddling my thumbs waiting for that Marine version...

If yes, what motor would be a good fit?

Great news by the way. I have been waiting for such a controller for a real long time.
Up to 12s lipo at up to 160 amps, by my math that's over 7,000 watts with the lipos at nominal voltage. That should be plenty to handle a 1/5th scale.

I would say it depends on your application. MasterBlaster's Baja has a Neu 2215 in it and it goes like stink! The highest KV I would go for is the 2Y on 10S, go lower KV and more voltage if you can. A Neu 2230 will power any 1/5th scale R/C currently on the market as long as the ESC and lipos can handle it but that is a $700 motor capable of putting out over 13 HP.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.
