Higher kv simply means higher RPMs per volt- torque is determined by the actual motor size and construction design ( multiple poles, slotted stator etc etc).
The summit isnt really my idea of a basher, there are far too many delicate linkages and the locking diffs that dont like being used whilst the motor is spinning (lest they explode into dust...), plus the high CoG- its a trail truck for light-duty crawling really, but anyway...
Keeping that in mind, a ~2000kv motor on 4s, or ~1600kv on 6s would be ideal for a top speed in the 30-40mph range in second gear.
The Ezrun systems are about the cheapest option, though I wouldnt say the most reliable- that would be the MMM systems that are only a little more $ with Castle's excellent customer service behind them. HobbyWing (Ezrun) customer service is existant, but not the best- as is the nature of Chinese based firms quite often.
Since Medusa went out of business its impossible to find a suitable motor for something this size, meaning your next best option would be either a Neu of some description (CastleNeu, a real neu, or an ImpaktRC neu); the hobbywing motors dont seem to be the best quality from what I've seen & are prone to running hot, like all feigao-esque motors pretty much.
I would recommend a Castleneu 2200kv motor for 4s lipo, or a Neu 1515 2.5D perhaps for 4-6s lipo; the 2200kv motor on 6s will be hella fast and too much for the Summit's diffs to handle for terribly long.
