Now I know there is some trial and error behind the curtain. lol
Lemme tell ya! I spend a lot of time and money ruining parts to finally get to what I want and works

That was part of my goal, to have the LST diffs as close as possible to the stock Traxxas diff dimensions without compromising the strength of the LST cases. The black paint is just icing on the cake to make it look stock. There is need to take a lot of material off the LST cases. They are a hair under 27 mm thick and the stock Revo diffs are a hair over 26 mm thick. So I only take off a hair under 0.5 mm on either side with a method I came up with on the drill press. The thickness of the LST cases' aluminum is 2 mm so taking off a little less than 0.5 mm does not make them weak at all. Then it's just a matter of rounding off the corners with a drum sander on the Dremel.

The lines show where I take material off the cases.

No brain, no headaches.
