Definitely check your throttle trim and make sure it's at 0. The only reason I was think it was something more serious is because the light doesn't change when he hits the throttle. Which would mean the radio isn't sending out a good signal on the throttle channel. We see it from time to time on some radios where just one channel conks out.

Sometimes trying a different radio system is the easiest way to test. Just toss a known good radio in place of the questionable one and see what happens. If it works, then the first radio is the problem. If it still doesn't work, you've got an ESC problem. Simple, quick and definitive.
