The itch became raw so I gave in and ordered an E-Maxx. The 4x4 slash doesn't look to bad but if CRC has a 4x4 SC class and I decide I want one to race I'll order one in the spring. I don't know how well that setup would handle bigger tires, for that matter none of us really know as it's pretty much an all new design. My goal is going to be to make the E-maxx a "project basher" I want to keep it as stock as possible and only upgrade as and when needed. I know I will eventually replace the shock towers, arms, and bumpers with RPM pieces. It's going to stay brushed at least till spring and then I may try a mixture of old and new brushless power. I think a MMpro with a Novak HV motor might fit the bill for what I have in mind. As I'm not looking for mind blowing speed or all out wheelie action. I just want something I can drive over anything with and decent runtime to boot. I had an HV 4.5 setup un a G2R and it had plenty of power and speed but didn't have the massive torque of a 1515 sized motor, which should also help with reliability, the only downfall was the HV esc is junk and lacked programming and lipo lvc all of which would be taken care of by the MMpro which should be up to the task of moving a E-Maxx at 30MPH. As I said I will stay with the brushed motors and I'm going to run the Traxxas NiMh batteries for now and I even plan on gearing it down a little.
