i gave up on my budget conversion and bought a used flux - 12.01.2009, 11:54 PM

both of my KB motors failed due to the rotors separating and i just don't like how the conversion was turning out. the batteries were velcroed in place and i realized that it would cost a small fortune to get it how i wanted it.

$120 for a TORK 2200kv off ebay
$50 for the bulletproof diffs
$20 for a new motor mount
$30 for the battery trays
$? for better dogbones and drive cups (i have the old nitro weak ones)
$50 for extended flux chassis plates
and the list goes on....

so, i started the search for a used flux. after adding all the costs, it was CHEAPER to get this flux instead upgrading my savage. this way, i will have tons of spare parts for this new truck. i'm not a big fan of SMC, but hopefully their 9000mah packs aren't as bad as the 5000 and 6000 packs.

i just paid the invoice. i won't say the price, but look at what he was asking and add free shipping i talked him down $25 more, but he wanted money order or check, so i offered to cover the costs of the fees with a little extra. i'd rather have a little more peace of mind than take a chance. so hopefully, if things go sour with this deal, i have a good chance of getting a refund.

edit: he is also including the stock chassis plates. does anyone know which extended plates those are? i wanna saw TCS, but i'm not sure...

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
