For 1/8 and larger the 4 pole motors just seem to be better than the comparable 2 pole motors. I like 2 pole motors for 1/10 scale touring cars, crazy acceleration! Same thing with mini vehicles, the 2 poles have less torque so they do not destroy diffs as fast.
