I'm sorry to hear that man. It's a shitty situation. But if your sister knew she had a dog that was protective of his food and she left it alone with a kitten she was asking for trouble. This wasn't a freak occurence, rather just what happens with animals. Even humane societies check if a dog has guarding behavior, and if they do they don't adopt them out. These are the things that happen when animal lovers think with their heart instead of their head.
