Personally, I love sway bars on my ERevo. I've ran it both with and without, and prefer it with sway bars. It seems the combo everyone likes is the Tekno sways up front, and the Traxxas sways in the rear. I've had Tekno all around, and Traxxas all around, and now have the Tekno up front, Traxxas in the rear. And they all worked pretty much the same way. I like the design of the Traxxas sway bar in the rears a bit more than the Tekno.

Are we talking a regular ERevo or a Brushless ERevo? Either way, you should shim your diffs for sure. It's easy to do, but you need certain washers do it. There is a really nice tutorial on the Traxxas forum on how to do it. Just search for Revo Diff Shim maybe?

I like using single servo steering. So picked up a Pro Line Single steering arm. You should also trim off yer steering stops to get more travel. There are posts all over the place about that too.

I'd consider upgrading your steering servo, especially if you're going to single steering, to something a bit more beefy and with Metal Gears. My buddy runs this one, and has no problems. I plan to get a few myself!

Another thing that I've heard really improves the truck are the shock dampers. I don't have them, but plan on getting them. Here is a link for them.

There are no limits to the mods you can do. But really, the truck is great out of the box. These are the ones I can think of that are cheap, and can improve the performance of the truck without going crazy. Myself personnally? I've gone semi crazy, but not to the degree of some, like MisterCrash! His thread is amazing. Some very useful mods there. Many aren't "needed" per se, but are great if you like to tinker and get the most out of your truck.
