I'm using the smart diff in the front and center of my carbon 8ight, and loving it
i ran all last season and regressed them afew times, after pulling them apart this winter there is almost no ware in the brake buckets
afew things
- people say you have no or poor brakes with a smart diff - thats not true, you still have 4 wheel brakes and it stops just as fast as it would with a standard diff
- running 2 torsion diff is a waste of money - all i can say is try it, my buggy handles like a touring car, turn in is amazing, there is no under steer even when powering out of a corner, it simply goes where you point it
- torsion diffs wont hold up to brushless power - mine are holding up just fine with 6cell lipo 2500mah 35c with a tekin 1400kv buggy system
- torsion diffs make you car run hotter - with mine the temps went down alittle due to less wheel spin
- torsion diffs weigh more - losi's smart diff is 1gram lighter than a standard diff with the lite weight outputs
- you have to use stock spurs - I'm running a kyosho 48T nylon gear with no problems
- you can put silicone in torsion diffs - i wouldn't, they are made to use grease and changing that out for fluid slows the diff action down alot
if anyone has any questions please ask
