Hey guys! I wanted to give an update on the E-LST.
I need to order some aluminum so that I can fix that battery box, but the place I went to has a minimum order of $40 if yer not picking it up! They are way too far away for me to do that. So I might try McMaster, or Ebay.
I"ve done three test drives, and so far, i've been BLOWN AWAY all three times!!! I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled i am with this truck!! I haven't been able to shoot any video yet, and I have no idea how fast it can go (yet), but I'll let you know when I do. But the best thing about it, is that it's big, VERY fast, and extremely stable on road. I've not been able to take it off road because it's there is way too much snow on the ground, and the MMM can't get wet. So It'll be many more months before I can try it out on some dirt. But if It drives like it did with the Nitro, it's gonna rule.
I have a sway bar on the rear only right now. I don't know if I'll add one to the front or not. When I ran it the other night, the asphalt parking lot was a touch wet, but not enuff to kick up any moisture. Anyway, i couldn't believe how great it handled. My can/ESC didn't even get warm (However it was cold out). I ran it hard too. The coolest thing about it was that I was able to do power slides without applying the brakes!! The truck would drift around corners on the asphalt, while keeping all four wheels planted, and slide! It was crazy fun!!
So that's where I'm at right now. In LOVE!
But I wanted to show you what my gear mesh looked liked because I'm still bothered by how tight and "notchy" my motor seems. My mesh could stand to be a kiss closer, but it's still in the realm of "ok". I've had it closer before, and it made NO difference on the notchyness of the motor.
I also uploaded a video of what the truck sounds like when moving slowly. THIS is what concerns me, as my ERBE has the same motor and it doesn't do anything like this. I'm using a Mod .1 pinion w/ the Losi Spur 63/23T.
Check it out and let me know if it still seems "ok" to you guys.
