WHAT is wrong with WALMART? - 03.03.2010, 09:16 PM

OK, a little upset here. Slide me that soap box! LOL

Here's the complaint that I just sent to Walmart Headquarters. It will explain my feelings.

Please feel free to share YOUR experiences about this wonderful chain of stores.

My name is James. My family and I regularly shop at Walmart in Sikeston, Missouri. We probably spend about $1000 a month there. It takes alot to feed and clothe a family of 5.
A few weeks ago, my wife had a sinus headache, so we decided to get her some Sudafed. This is now kept behind the pharmacy counter, so I picked up one of the cards off the shelf and headed for the pharmacy counter. There was no line of customers waiting, but there were a few elderly people sitting on the benches out front. I walked up to the counter. Every person working that department was in the back. A Blonde haired Lady named Tracy walked out and asked "Can I help you?" I said "Yes, I would like to buy a box of Sudafed", and handed her the card. She did a double take and said "Wait a minute! Were you in Line?" She was pretty rude about it, and I looked around and said "Ummm......no I wasn't". I didn't see any line formed. She took my card, threw it behind the counter and very rudely said, "WELL I CAN'T HELP YOU THEN!" I said, "Ok, can I have my card back?" She said "WHAT!?"???" Then she finally gave the Sudafed card back to me. After walking away, I decided we would buy the medicine somewhere else. Just let it pass I said, even though I was obviously upset and couldn't stop thinking about it.

Then tonight, we went back to get groceries and some other things we needed. Our shopping went well and we found ourselves headed for the Checkout with a basketful.
We were almost done, when I told my wife, "I need a pack of cigarettes". She is 39 years old, and I am 43 years old. I handed my wife $5 and she went to get them while I wrote the check. They carded her and wouldn't sell them to her. I believe the law is you have to be 18 to buy cigarettes. I laughed it off and told her she should take that as a compliment. My 19 year old daughter was there with us and had her ID. So she offered to get them. They refused her saying it was a 3rd party sale. So I went to get them myself. I showed her my Driver's License and she refused to sell to me! She was pretty rude about it too. We are all over 18 years old and legal. So I decided to talk to a CSM named Michelle. She decided it was OK to make a scene in front of everyone. She informed me that she was already onto the game and I was just trying to buy cigarettes for my wife. I took the partial pack of cigarettes out of my pocket, showed them to her and said "My wife doesn't even smoke". But it didn't matter, I was rudely told that they would NOT sell to me no matter what at this point.
What I want to know is, What the hell is wrong with the people in this store? Does Walmart think it is ok to make up their own rules and laws? Or have we simply forgotten who the customer is?
If you can explain to me the events I've described, I might come back.
It's NOT ok to push my buttons and try to ruin my day.
I WILL go out of my way to AVOID this store from NOW ON!
