Depends on what you mean by wear out. If you race every weekend yes you need to rebuild every two to three weeks, but if you bash like most of us, I don't know about other people, I just replace the brushes when they are short enough that the spring has trouble maintaining pressure. I don't have a com cutterso i use a piece of sandpaper and a light touch to clean up the commutator. All my motors are over two years old and have the origional armatures with the origional commutators and have no problems with them

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
