Steel spurs are more durable than plastics. I ran steel spur because I had it laying around in my parts bin. Like I said, I still have to replace any pinions or spurs since running my ST RR. Besides, I don't wear out my pinions like you do.

The Castle Creation pinions are junk. Unless they changed it to hardened steel, the pinions that came with the combos are made from flimsy aluminum.
