For everyone else I beleive Stum is bringing this up because the rules for 4x4 SC at the track we race at. They have said a 10.5 motor and 2s lipo max. IMHO these rules need to change. For one if I bought a 4x4 slash I would want to use the vilineon system that came in it, or at least the motor and put a MM on it. A 540 sized 10.5t motor just isn't u to the task of pushing a 4x4 sc truck, I beleive many who try will destroy their motors within 2 weeks of racing
Agreed.. most racers in the 4x4 class are now running the novak HV 4.5t's (550).. plenty of detail on this on the hyper 10sc and Jammin SCRT threads.. A few have gotten the 540's to hold up on little tracks or with really slow gearing.. but man I hate to waste 80 bucks on a new motor when I have two of these medusa's sitting here that are perfect for this size vehicle.

What exactly is the velineon considered anyway? It's not quite a 540 is it 550?, I've read it's about a 10t equiv, true?
