I'm fortunate enough to have 3 local shops to choose from, 4 if I feel like taking a 1/2hr ride. 2 local shops are good, friendly to noobs and experienced alike. One I used to frequent alot because they stocked alot and I got good cash deals. Once they stopped stocking anything but Traxxas parts and the cash deals stopped I retried another. I get good cash deals again and ordering parts is not as frequent. It happens, but 3-4 days I have it in my hands and can return it without shipping Or any penalty if need be.
The other 2 shops, just about everything has to be ordered unless it's for a tmaxx or rustler, and prices are almost full retail. Funny part is lots of people love being screwed by these guys.
I believe in supporting my local shops when I can. Mostly because it's the best way to help the hobby. It's easier to say to the guy new to the hobby, watching you run "go see Tom over here, he'll set you up." than to refer them to a website. Plus that guy will have a place to go that can fix or help out with their vehicle, alot of people around here don't fix there own stuff for some reason.
