Going To 32p (Mod .8) On My Rustler - 05.26.2010, 08:00 PM

Ok, so I'm tired of the wobbly spurs and would like to use a Jato spur gear on my Rustler. I just want to make sure all the things I think I know are correct.
  • Firstly, that a 32p pinion gear will work with a mod .8 Jato spur gear and that that spur gear will mount right up to my Rustler's REVO spec slipper (standard XL-5 version slipper on an XL-1 truck).
  • Secondly, that it's a good idea to go with this conversion. I will have fewer options as far as gearing goes, but the gears should be stronger and last longer.
  • Thirdly, that I should get a 10t 32p pinion and a 58t mod .8 spur to replace my current 15t 48p pinion and 90t 48p spur, which seems to be a pretty happy gearing for my Mamba Max 5700 on 3s A123 and Stampede Talon tires.
  • Lastly, where a good place to get the spur and pinion is? Don't really want to pay a ton in shipping, so I'm thinking I'll check my LHS, though I haven't been up there in forever. I have some 12t 32p pinions I had bought for my Villain IVX and my now sold E-Maxx, but I'm thinking they're too big for my gearing needs. Thoughts?
Thanks for any help!

Brijar!!!
