well if your looking to make it insanely fast the 6xl on 14 cells would be nice. im pretty sure 16 would be ok to but that would be the max. the 7xl is probably the best choice if you will ever want to go up in cell count. i just ran my 10xl on 12 cells and it wasnt disappointing. about 35mph. not bad for only 12 cells although i intend to run 16 or 6s lipo. i have the new ib 4200s but i got a had one so i have to get another. anywho, i think the xl motor would definately be the one to go with although it just depends on how many cells is your max and how many you would like to run. if shear speed is your goal and runtime doesnt do diddly for the 6xl on about 14 or 16 would be a good choice.

EDIT:the 7xl on 16 cells with the proper gearing wouldnt run to hot. on 18 maybe.... the 6xl WILL run a tad on the hot side on 16 cells although if you gear right it shouldnt be much of a concern.
