I know there is an active group of fast electric boaters in Tobay, I meet them at the nats every year, the south west area seems to be the most active FE area in the country, you may want to check out
SWAMBC and go for a class capable boat in case you want to race in the future, I like bashing cars but nothing beats racing boats.
