The motor is rated to 60,000 rpm. So that isnt a problem. I was going to run my 1520 on 9s which is 53000rpm or so.

With a centre diff, geared to 10tpinion and 47t spur You should have a top speed of around 75mph using badland tires. Running this gearing and these speed on 10s should give you no temperature problems at all. I would say this is extremely conservative for a truck this light. You could always gear down for my top speed :)

I am currently running on 6s with the 1520 geared for 53mph... I have no temp issues what so ever usinig badlands. When i go 9s i will gear the truck on 6s for around 45mph and so on 9s i should have around 70-73mph.

Should be a ballistic truck :)

By the way... the savage tranny struggles with 6s... This is why i am doing the centre diff conversion now before going to 9s. The tranny will not be able to handle anything more than 6s unless new gears are brought out, which they are not.
