I found the sweet spots of these motors to be around 25-30K rpm. I run a 1509 2.5Y (1450kv) on 6s in my 8ight build so I am just out of range. I am limited to 12/46 or 13/46 or temps start getting a little out of control. It's also a freakin monster - went up to a 17 tooth pinion gear for fun in the street and I was able to pull wheelies with a locked center. I've tried some pretty hot setups too: Tekin 1900 kv on 6s and Castle 2650 on 5s, with the power potential not being seen until you gear really really high. However, keeping the rpms less than 30,000 on either of these motors results in much cooler temps, with the potential to gear rediculously high and keep temps down at the same time. My thoughts are just to stick with the 3600 and gear up if more speed is needed.
