That depends on how steep the down hill is . I have gotten up to 25 on the flats, but not for very long . I can keep it around 15-18 on a 10 mile, depending on the head wind. I have'nt rode this bike yet. It will be here wensday. I trade in a 2 week old Trek 2.1 for this.
