^^the 1717 may be hard to get close enough to the spur.

Those mounts look like they would work much like 10kman's tekno mount, but you never know until you try.

A simple L mount out of angle aluminum, much like The Dude's LST mount would be a very simple and effective way to mount the motor. (It's been done) Then you can also raise the motor just a little to align the pinion closer to the center of the spur gear, which would move it as far away from the back of the tranny as possible.

An MMM is a much better choice than a xerun, and you can find MMM's just as cheap as the xerun.
