aus, something else to consider with that gearing is the esc. Could be they are using the MMM with the 2650, and the MMP with the 2400. Though they still seem quite lop sided.

I think what he meant was they got better performance with the smaller diameter rotor in the 36MM can (more room for copper in the stator) than they would have if they had used the 1515 size (larger diameter rotor) in the 36MM can,
Not that they got better performance out of the smaller motor than the larger one.
