I haven't had any issues with 7.4v on the Rx. I run it on a Futaba 3pm system, and checked it on a RTR ofna receiver. I've never seen an actual post from a person who has fried a receiver on 2S lipo, only rumors...

You HAVE to run high voltage servos to do it though. I wouldn't even consider trying over-volting a standard servo.

I just picked up a few Hitec HS-7945SH servo's (400oz.in @ .15sec) for $79 each of eBay, so getting a single HV servo isn't much more expensive than a low end servo plus a decent BEC.

All the Castle Phoenix ICE HV controllers are void of a BEC and are Opto isolated, so it's not pushing ANY voltage to the receiver.

If I had to pick between a NiMh receiver pack (for 6v) and a BEC I'd go BEC. (The castle one).
NiMh packs are just too big and heavy for my rigs.


If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
