the new SCT motor, 1415 2400 has a 3,17mm shaft. i dont know if this tiny shaft will break in the 1:8.

i was planing to buy a NEU 1415 1y engine. but this new castle creations combo has all in one. the good esc and a NEU 1415, but hte version with 3,17mm shaft. there is no problem to buy a pinion Modul 1 for 3,17mm. but i dont know if the shaft will break in a 1:8 vehicel
So long as you use mechanical brakes and don't get any stones in the pinion/spur interface, you might be OK. But I think you are lilely to snap the 1/8" shaft clean off if you use it with electric motor brakes on a 1/8th buggy.

The good news is that Castle is supposed to be working on 5MM shaft rotors for the SCT motors, so when you snap your 1/8" shaft, you will be able to buy a 5MM shaft.
