Just an idea - you could have moved the CD a little to the left (it doesn't need to be in the exact center) and the motor would have fit without hacking the chassis.

Also, I doubt that you're really going to want to run a pinion that large - what top speed would that give you!?! You'll probably need to move the support bar that you currently have between the motor and driveshaft. That's what others have done, anyway.
