Me too Harold. Gee If that were mine I would not hesitate to use it, and use it hard. Otherwise whats the point in spending that kind of $$$ on Lipos. Like stated as long as it is still balanced with the other cells no worries. I would just have patched up the damaged area, wrapped it up in more heatshrink or even put the pack into some kind of home made hard case and put her to work.
Whatever the deal was is between Gee and the other guy. If your charging your Lipos in your house without some kind of fire protection, than shame on you anyway. And I don't just mean a fire extinguisher either. Charging any Lipo comes with its own hazards and should not be taken lightly. Charging Lipos should not even be done inside your home without some kind of fireproof enclosure to protect your house from smoke and fire damage. One of the best and cheapest ways that I have seen is converting an old gutted grill into a charging station with an exhaust vent over it in order to remove any smoke from the area.
If there is even minor damage to any of the cells, than patch it up properly and watch it a little bit more closely and move on. Getting all hysterical and panicing over damage that little is just rediculous.
As for selling old Lipos as long as the factual status of the battery pack was disclosed up front no harm no foul. When we purchase items second hand on here or Ebay or whatever we usually require photos of the item before closing a deal. If there is any kind of flaws that were not disclosed up front then a refund is in order. Buying anything second hand is risky, and me personally I would never buy batteries or any kind of electronics second hand. Its just not worth the risk, but thats just me.
