Yeah, i dont know why they do that, but i THINK i`ve read that it`s to get other parts closer to the center of the chassie..

Theres one thing i dont like about it though.. The diff sits kinda high, so the angle on the rear center axle is bad. Maybe it works great for all i know, but i smell wear when i see things like this..
I changed my spur to a plastic 50t esterday when i went up to 120k wt in the center, but i still couldnt remove the base plate under the diff (its a 3mm plate between diff and chassie, so the spur shouldnt stick underneeth the truck)
I think i will change to a 46t steel spur from the rc8te soon, so i can remove that plate..
The angle looked alot better without it!

Geared up to 48mph yesterday, and MAN did the 1520 wake up! Together with the 120k wt oil, the truck got real fun to drive..
