Miniature steam engines & stationary engines have been around for decades ( or longer )- I had a friend at school who had one in pieces and was slowly building it at home. Installing the engine into a model truck chassis and controlling the throttle assembly via rc isn't that much of a leap ( normally you put them on a looped track and set them off- they only stop when they run out of steam... /bad pun ), but it is awesome none the less- there are a few videos of steam powered trucks about as it happens..

this one was posted just the other day on another forum- think it used to be Tamiya Mamoth Dumptruck judging by the chassis and suspension design...
