The start power issue is probably just that -- start power is set too low for your particular motor. Have you tried bumping it up?

The start power is all the way up and it did in one 3 65C batteries and 2 motors...still can't go anyware below that speed. Castle has is and i'm working on getting my receipt to have it replaced (LHS closed down)

The removable rx wire would be a defect in the thickness of the pins or inserts in the wire plug, It was also one of the first run ESC's i think to where the problem may have been fixed already. I solved the wire problem by bending the 3 pins different directions so they hold pressure and then used a zip tie to prevent it from coming loose
