i dont think they carry a fan that is small enough to use on your controller ( based on the radioshack web site ) - they only sell larger fans - also - if you use an external 9V battery - you will have to find a way to secure that as well. With all that mounting you probably would save a bunch of time by just connecting to the deans connectors ( I hate soldering as well )- but you will always have the fan battery charged - and you wont have to replace and secure 9V batteries. Just my .02:)
