The windings are protected like an armature so i don't think they are damaged.

What i wonder about is how the sensors work. i have looked everywhere except behind the end plate and don't see a sensor setup anywhere and nothing to key the rotor into (Rotor is round with no flat spots except where the pinion goes). So, how is it sensored?

one other thing I touched the throttle once to determine that the magnet was slipping and the magnet turned as it should. If the sensors were attached somehow to the shaft, how could the magnet function without a sensor

If this fix fails i'm thinking about tring the 7xl I got without the sensors
