It always depends on the user, lipomax, and I still think it would be possible to take down the 4.5 with the 1920/4 and not the 1920/5- who would want to use 12 cells, anyway- a good controller, high capacity lipo packs( like 6000-8000mah) and a gear ratio that would make your car go over 45mph easily at 8.4V. However, I cant argue alot since you'd used the thing. You said that you'd used the 12.97 esc with the 1920/5 and it thermalled. I think that problem would have been evaded with the Warrior 20120 controller or the MGM 12012.

It all depends on how much would you pay to go fast. I might go for a reedy neo one, but not a Novak.
