I am curious, where you find that thread, because here at rc-monster i haven't read anything negative about their products. It are the schulzes that are a concern in both meltdowns and customer service.

No, you can't say lipo's are more powerfull than standard C-size cells. It depends. They both come in all sorts and flavours.

With brushless you need the most powerfull batteries you can find. Lipo's are not meant for planes, they are meant for delivering much energy at a low weight.

With a lipo, you need to worry about the 3V cuttoff, otherwise the cell might be damaged.

When you want to use lipo for your truck, you need about 15-20C discharge rate and a capacity of about 3-4000 mAh
