It has been mentioned already, but the most likely culprit for a slow steering servo (aside from a slow servo) is using the built-in BEC from any non-Novak controller. They all provide 5V for the BEC, whereas an external BEC (UBEC), the Novak HV-Maxx, or a standard receiver pack all provide 6V for the BEC. This makes a HUGE difference in the servo speed and torque.
