If the receiver was busted, you probably would not be able to turn the wheels or hear that beep. It sounds like the ESC is getting the signal, it's just the ESC output that's inoperable.
If you press the throttle on the transmitter, will the truck roll forward at all if you manually push it? If not, one of the ESC phases may be stuck on, locking the motor. Or, if it does roll, one of the phases might simply be inoperative. Either way, it sounds like the ESC. You know at least 2 phases of the ESC works somewhat (at least enough to beep from the motor).
To totally rule out the receiver, you could plug the ESC wire into the steering slot on the receiver. When you turn right or left, the truck should move forward or backwards accordingly. If that's the case, then the throttle output of the receiver is bad. If there is a bad channel, you might be able to use the AUX channel of your receiver as the throttle provided your radio system has channel mixing.
