Depends on where I intend to run. And the weight (cells) also has a huge influence.
One thing I learned on the G2R, the stock chassis likes to have the rear springs two steps (traxxas chart) stiffer then the front. As in the manual, works fine. On the G2R, however, I like the rears only one step stiffer than the fronts. Just my taste. (my g2r has no tranny, just a buggy like driveline, with centerdiff... so weight-bias might be different for you)
I keep two sets of shocks, one with 80wt oil, and the other with 50wt oil. Stock pistons.
The 80s is for very smooth terrain, and the 50s are allrounders, still do good on rough tracks.
As for springs, the 80s usually have black/tan, and the 50s have gold/green on.
This is how I like it on my G2R with 5S2P Lipos (close to 14 Ni cells in weight)
And yes, I like my trucks rather on the stiff side.
As alwyas, if you try it out yourself, you might find the combo that you like. Drivingstyle has a huge influence.
