1) Sorry about the back to back posts. Enough said, lets move on.
2) With respect to diff cups. 7075 cups will be more than adequate and I agree, at this point given my set-up with 7075 cups, 7075 cases, and upgraded hardware the weak link is now the gears. No argument. For a stock diff the cases & cups are "flexible" which allows for mis-alignment and the inevitable broken gear tooth which is why I'm recommend alloy diff cases & cups, plus RRP gears whenever possible.
3) Regarding machining costs...........
My comments were based on larger production runs not "one offs" or very small runs. I agree 100% that the initial production of a part is expensive and that the programming, machine set-up, QC, etc., are by far the largest part of the initial cost and not the material. In established production runs the material and special tooling run the costs up for the Ti parts.
